Dorset Council are soon to hopefully embrace the UK Network of Age- friendly Communities as a Dorset Council area.
We feel the older Dorset LGBT+ Community needs to be part of this! What support and areas would you like the Council to embrace locally? Travel, health, care homes? How can the Council help you better as a mature LGBT+ person?
Dorset is blessed with lots of support for younger LGBT+ people, and rightly so. But what if you are of an older mature generation?
You may have had to hide your sexuality or gender in the past. Living through section 28? Perhaps living a “lie” to others? Being married to the opposite gender and having a family, or embracing in later life your true self as transgender?
